GLENCOE — A 26-year-old man and a 5-year-old girl died after a Payne County wreck Sunday east of Glencoe, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Tuesday.

About 9:55 p.m., Jose Bejarano, 26, and Briana Rodriguez-Gutierrez, 5, both of Tulsa, were passengers in an eastbound minivan on the Cimarron Turnpike when the minivan drifted into a guardrail, troopers said. The minivan straddled the guardrail for more than 90 feet before flipping twice, ejecting five of the seven occupants, including Bejarano and Briana.

Bejarano was flown to a Tulsa hospital, where he died Monday, troopers said. Briana died at the scene Sunday.

The driver and one of the surviving passengers were wearing seat belts, but troopers said they didn’t know if the others were.

Driver Anna Gutierrez, 43, of Denver was taken to a Stillwater hospital with arm and internal injuries, troopers said, but her condition was not available. Passenger Elma Rodriguez, 23, of Tulsa was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital in critical condition. Three other passengers were taken to various hospitals with less serious injuries, the patrol said.
