Realtor of the Year named at state conference
TULSA — The Oklahoma Association of Realtors honored Theresa Stewart of Ada as 2008 Realtor of the Year during the recent education conference and trade show in Tulsa.



Stewart has been a Realtor since 1995. She and her husband, Danny, own Stewart Properties LLC in Ada. She holds the GRI designation — Graduate Realtors Institute — and has been active on several association committees and the board of directors. She was association president in 2005.

A committee of past recipients chooses the Realtor of the Year.

Volunteers get ‘ Door’ honor
TULSA — The Oklahoma Association of Realtors presented its Open Door Award to three members at the recent conference. The award recognizes volunteer work.

→Sandy Burford of Locust Grove was chosen for her work with S.P.I.C.E. — Special Partners in Children’s Education — which provides grants to Locust Grove teachers to buy items needed for their classrooms.

→Von Coburn of Guthrie won the award for creating the Friends of the Guthrie Animal Shelter, FOGAS, a nonprofit organization that raises money for the Guthrie Animal Shelter.

→Chuck Patterson of Tulsa was chosen for his work with Housing Partners of Tulsa, the nonprofit arm of the Housing Authority of the City of Tulsa.

Negotiating seminar
Michael Lee, real estate broker and national multicultural consultant, will present a seminar, "Multi-Cultural Home Sales & Black Belt Negotiating,” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Francis Tuttle Technology Center, 7301 W Reno.

Cost is $99 and buys continental breakfast and lunch. The seminar is sponsored by the Sales & Marketing Council of the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association.

It is approved for six continuing education units for Realtors and three unit for certified builders.

Registration deadline is Oct. 16.
