Katherine McGaugh, family resident manager, said about 30 people were in the building.

"It felt like a thud and we heard a thud on the building,” McGaugh said. "After the sirens stopped sounding and we went upstairs, it was just frightening. Rain was pouring in like we’d been set under a (water) fall.”

Although straight-line winds, a meteorologist said the Bartlesville area experienced gusts as high as 100 mph.

Several inmates at the Caddo County jail in Anadarko were taken to other jails in the area because of storm damage.

An emergency manager said Wednesday night the jail had a gas leak.

Oklahoma could be in for more severe weather before clear and dry conditions arrive perhaps on Sunday and stay for the first part of next week.

The National Weather Service said today’s forecast includes a chance for showers and thunderstorms, with a slight risk for severe weather in north, central and western parts of the state.

High temperatures are forecast in the upper 70s to near 90 degrees.
