Elsewhere ... High water caused by rainfall has been a problem for many state parks, but officials are optimistic that most will be open by this Memorial Day weekend.
"We’ve had strong bookings. We know people want to get out and enjoy the sunny weather, certainly after the spring we’ve had with all this rainy weather,” Watkins said.
Watkins said officials are monitoring the status of water at the parks to determine what will be ready.
Other lakes well above normal elevation include Kay, Keystone, Oologah, Hulah, Copan, Grand, Hudson, Fort Gibson, Wister, Arbuckle, Texoma, McGee Creek, Sardis, Hugo and Pine Creek.
Most of those lakes were falling on Sunday. Wister, McGree Creek and Hugo were still rising Sunday evening.
At Beavers Bend, desk clerk Tammy Jackson said there had been some cancellations for the weekend, but the improving weather has brought in some people, as well.
"We’re just a little waterlogged,” she said. "We’ve all got webbed feet, and we just look so pretty waddling around out here like ducks.”
