PICKENS – A Battiest woman died in a Friday evening accident in McCurtain County.
Kathy Wade, 38, was a passenger in a truck driven by Dora Estroada, 45, of Broken Bow that ran off a county road and rolled east of Pickens about 6 p.m., the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. Wade and Estroada were thrown from the vehicle and Wade died at the scene. Estroada and another passenger, Diantha Noah, 40, of Pickens were taken to Texas hospitals with injuries, troopers said. It is not known if anyone in the truck was wearing a seat belt.
