BLACKWELL – Blackwell police are looking for a woman they said escaped police custody while assisting with a narcotics investigation on Wednesday.

Cynthia Campbell, 38, also known as Cynthia Coursey, escaped police custody about 9:30 p.m. in the area of North “B” Street and East Florence Avenue in Blackwell, Deputy Chief of Police Dewayne Wood said.

She had been working with police doing controlled buys of narcotics and ran away before a purchase was completed. She had worked with police the day before without incident.

Campbell did not escape with any drugs, Wood said. She was being held by city police on traffic warrants and had a drug possession case pending in Blaine County, Wood said.

Campbell is a white female, 5 feet, 3 inches tall weighing 105 pounds with blonde hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Blackwell Police Department at 580-363-5490Ö . Anyone providing information that leads to Campbell’s arrest will be eligible for a reward.
