BLACKWELL, Okla. — A woman who escaped from the Blackwell Police Department has been captured.
Authorities say Cynthia Campbell, who escaped on Wednesday, was captured shortly after midnight on Sunday in Tonkawa. Officials say she was taken into custody at a Tonkawa convenience store parking lot without incident.
Campbell had dyed her hair red to alter her appearance.
Blackwell police, Arkansas City, Kan., police and Tonkawa police had been following leads since her escape.
On Friday, a Kay County judge issued a warrant for Campbell's arrest with bond set at $100,000.
Campbell has been transported to the Kay County Jail and will make an initial appearance on Monday.
