Road wrecks claim two more
At least five deaths in the last two days — including two in accidents Tuesday — are being linked to slick roads and freezing temperatures. A 25-year-old woman died after her vehicle went off an icy road and crashed near Walters. In Caddo County, a 32-year-old man died after his vehicle crashed into a pickup hauling a cargo trailer near Lookeba.

State sees variety of temps
What’s it like where you are? For two Oklahoma sites separated by only 160 miles, Tuesday was a tale of two seasons. About 2:40 p.m., an Oklahoma Mesonet station in Woods County in far northwestern Oklahoma showed a temperature of 15 degrees. At the same time, the Mesonet station at Goodwell in the Panhandle reported 54 degrees.

Slight thaw expected today
Across Oklahoma today, there might be a little relief from the bitter temperatures. Highs are expected to range from 30 to 50 degrees. In the Oklahoma City area, the forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 40s. There’s a 20 percent chance of rain and light sleet this morning and a 20 percent chance of rain this afternoon.
