Widespread dense fog is expected to continue through early this evening over most of Oklahoma. Scattered light rain and light freezing rain will also occur.

Temperatures are likely to hover near or just below freezing through early morning across the northern one-fourth of the state, and will not affect the Oklahoma City area, according to the National Weather Service. In this area, freezing fog and brief periods of light freezing rain should occur.

Light ice accumulations are likely, which will lead to slick and hazardous roads.

Temperatures in parts of Oklahoma are likely to rise slightly during the coming days before another stretch of colder weather.

Today should be mostly cloudy with widespread dense fog and a chance of light rain and light drizzle in the morning, then a chance of rain in the afternoon. There also will be a chance of thunderstorms in eastern Oklahoma in the afternoon. Highs will be from the upper 40s to upper 50s.

Overnight lows are likely to range from the lower 20s in the Panhandle to the lower 50s in far southeastern Oklahoma, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the east and a chance of rain in the west.

Skies should be partly cloudy on Friday, with a slight chance of light rain early in the day in far southeastern Oklahoma. Temperatures are expected to be warmer, with highs from the mid-40s and lower 50s across the north to the mid-60s in the south.

Conditions are likely to turn breezy and much colder Sunday, with clear to partly cloudy skies and highs from the lower 20s to mid-30s, except for the Panhandle, where they should only reach the upper teens.

Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing across northern Oklahoma by late morning, allowing icy conditions to be short-lived.
