A former Edmond firefighter pleaded guilty today to possessing child pornography.
Chandler resident Micah Dwight Weaver, 40, faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced in a few months.
Weaver admitted to possessing pornographic pictures of children that had been downloaded from the Internet when he pleaded guilty to the felony count in federal court in Oklahoma City.
A federal judge allowed Weaver to remain free on an unsecured bond until sentencing.
Weaver's attorney said he is a lifelong Oklahoma resident who has been in counseling since his actions brought him into contact with authorities.
Weaver retired from the Edmond Fire Department as a major in February. He had been with the department since September 2000.
