A sheriff’s deputy reported a brief tornado Wednesday evening in a rural area of western Haskell County, the National Weather Service and dispatchers said.
No damage to structures or injuries were reported.
The deputy said the tornado touched down about 6 p.m. near the former community of Enterprise, southwest of Hoyt.
Storms on Wednesday caused damage to storage facilities, barns and uninhabited small structures in Mayes, Pittsburg and Sequoyah counties. Wind gusts of up to 135 mph were reported in Pittsburg County.
The storms downed trees, limbs, fences and power lines in Craig, Cotton, Garvin, Haskell, Hughes, Mayes, McIntosh, Murray, Ottawa, Pawnee, Pittsburg, Sequoyah and Stephens counties, the weather service reported.
