MACOMB — A Tecumseh woman is dead after a Sunday afternoon motorcycle accident.
Helen Gillham, 46, of Tecumseh was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by Charles Gillham, 52, of Tecumseh on U.S. 177 east of Macomb at 5:30 p.m., Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said.
The motorcycle was traveling too closely behind a van driven by Gary Lee Baker, 49, of Oklahoma City, troopers said. When the van slowed, the motorcycle swerved but struck the van and traveled off the road, throwing Charles and Helen Gillham, troopers said.
Charles Gillham was treated and released at a local hospital. Helen Gillham was pronounced dead of massive head injuries at the scene.
The report did not say if the Gillhams were wearing helmets.
