HARRAH -- Oklahoma County Sheriff's investigators said today the fall of a 17-year-old girl from a bridge near Harrah was an accident.

The girl's name has not been released.

The girl told authorities she had been drinking alcohol with her boyfriend, Joshua McCaulley, 19, and another person at a house when she discovered her car was missing about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release. She ran to a bridge on State Highway 62 near Luther Road and saw vehicles driving toward her, and she told investigators she misjudged her position on the bridge and decided to jump off "for safety," the news release states.

The teen broke both of her arms in the 30-foot fall onto a riverbed and was treated at a nearby hospital.

Deputies arrested McCaulley on a DUI complaint when he showed up at the bridge in the girl's car to look for her. Deputies cited Otis Lynch, 25, on a misdemeanor complaint of providing alcohol to minors in connection with the incident.
