Wrecks on state roads claimed four Oklahomans on Monday, officials said.

Robert F. Jencks, 54, Cheyenne

Jencks died Monday of exposure after a one-car wreck overnight Sunday in Roger Mills County south of Cheyenne, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Jencks was southbound on U.S. 283 late Sunday or early Monday when his car left the right side of the road and down an embankment, troopers said. The car flipped end-over-end onto its roof and then turned over onto the driver’s-side door.

The car wasn’t discovered until about 7:50 a.m. Monday, troopers said.

He was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

Geoffrey L. Sharp, 18, and James T. Young, 17, Gans

Sharp and Young died at the scene of a wreck early Monday in Sequoyah County northeast of Gans, the patrol said.

About 8:20 a.m., Sharp was driving a sport utility vehicle east on State Highway 141 a mile west of U.S. 64 when he tried to pass on a curve in a no-passing zone, troopers said. When an oncoming vehicle approached, Sharp swerved out of the way and overcorrected.

The SUV rolled, throwing out Sharp and Young. Another passenger, Mac J. Vinson, 15, of Gans was partially ejected and suffered minor injuries.

No one in the SUV was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

Charles Gary, 65,

Big Cabin

Gary died at the scene of a wreck Monday on the Will Rogers Turnpike southwest of Adair, the patrol said.

Gary was riding in an eastbound tractor-trailer rig driven by Bonnie Gary, 65, of Big Cabin when a tractor-trailer in front of them jackknifed as it hit an icy patch on the road, troopers said. The jackknifed rig stuck the center wall and was blocking the roadway when Bonnie Gary swerved in an attempt to miss it, troopers said.
