ACCIDENTS CLAIM 7 LIVES

Seven people have died in state wrecks.

38, Battiest

Wade was a passenger in a pickup driven by Dora

Estroada, 45, of Broken Bow. The pickup rolled east of Pickens about 6 p.m. Friday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. Wade and Estroada were thrown from the vehicle. Estroada and another passenger, Diantha Noah, 40, of Pickens were taken to hospitals with injuries, troopers said. It’s not known if they were wearing seat belts.

Gilmore died after a sport utility vehicle he was driving ran off a road east of Depew about 11 p.m. Friday. Gilmore crashed at 251st Street South and 449th West Avenue, the patrol said. Troopers said the SUV had been

stolen. The SUV rolled, struck a

propane tank and fence and ejected Gilmore. He was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

Pennington, 43, Magnolia, Ark.

About noon Saturday, Pennington was driving a motorcycle north on U.S. 259 south of Smithville. The motorcycle struck a guardrail, the patrol said. His passenger, Lisa D. Pennington, 44, of Magnolia was treated and released, troopers said.

Simpson, 20, Ada

Simpson died from a head injury he suffered when he fell from a pickup’s tailgate about 11:45 a.m. Saturday, the patrol said. The pickup was traveling on a road three miles east of Connerville when Simpson leaned over to retrieve a hat and fell, troopers said. The driver, Jennifer A. Martin, 18, of Milburn and the other five passengers weren’t injured.
