Kim to skip Dubai
Anthony Kim says he will not be going to the Dubai World Championship to compete for the $7.5 million bonus pool, even though the American has easily qualified.
Kim, a former OU golfer, lost in the final of the World Match Play Championship last week in Spain, moving up to No. 39 in the Race to Dubai standings on the European Tour. He already has played 11 events and is assured of qualifying for the 60-man field in two weeks.
But his road to Dubai is ending early.
Kim says he did a poor job of scheduling this year, and he’s ready to go home. He still has the two-day Kiwi Challenge next week in New Zealand.
Kim would not be replaced at the Dubai World Championship.
