NORMAN — Harvest for Norman, a special event featuring Celtic music by Boru’s Ghost and Emerald Flame, will be at 7 p.m. today at Norman Unitarian Fellowship, 1309 W Boyd St.

Admission is free, but donations are requested. All proceeds go to the Cleveland County Community Action Agency food pantry.

The pantry aids hundreds of local families, spokesman Ed Kearns said.

"More and more families are facing unemployment, which pushes them to make a decision to buy food or pay their bills. Many people are visiting the food pantry for the first time,” Kearns said.

In addition to the bands, the Norman Belly Dance Club will perform. Refreshments will be served and child care is available.

Donations may consist of nonperishable food items and gently used adults’ and children’s coats and winter wear.

The event is co-sponsored by Norman Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Unitarian Universalist Community Church and Oklahoma Food Cooperative.
