GUTHRIE — School board members Monday will discuss what to do with the district’s junior high school.
The school board meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Guthrie Administration Building, 802 East Vilas.
Superintendent Terry Simpson said officials are weighing various options for the future of the 80-year old-building.
A community meeting this week gave the board some direction.
Among the options the board is considering are renovating the building, constructing a new one or building a new high school and moving the junior high students into the existing high school, Simpson said.
Regardless of the board’s eventual choice, a bond issue would be needed to fund the project. The bond proposal likely won’t be brought before voters this school year, Simpson said.
The district’s past two bond proposals have fallen a few votes short of the 60 percent majority needed to pass.
