Switzer earns ovation from Huskers

Nebraska celebrated the Big Red Rivalry with a reception Friday night for both schools' major award winners. They were honored at halftime Saturday. Barry Switzer received a standing ovation from the Memorial Stadium crowd.

Other Sooner legends honored were Steve Owens, Greg Pruitt, Tom Brahaney, Joe Washington, Billy Sims, Jason White and, with his arm in a sling, Sam Bradford.

Nebraska legends honored were Will Shields, Dave Rimington, Johnny Rodgers, Larry Jacobson, Aaron Taylor, Tommie Frazier, Dean Steinkuhler, Trev Alberts, Eric Crouch, Zach Wiegert, Mike Rozier and former coach and current athletic NU athletic director Tom Osborne.

At the reception Friday night, comic Larry the Cable Guy, a longtime Nebraska fan, zinged every honoree with a one-liner. On Sims, whose late fumble at the Nebraska 3-yard line cost OU the 1978 Big Red game, Larry the Cable Guy said, "You should have been here two weeks ago, when we honored you with seven fumbles."

WR Caleb held out

Junior wide receiver Brandon Caleb suited up, but was held out against the Cornhuskers. Caleb, who injured his ankle last weekend against Kansas State, practiced late in the week and was hoping to play. He elevated himself to a game-time decision, but struggled to cut during pregame warm-ups. Senior Adron Tennell started in his place. When Tennell was knocked out of the game during the second quarter, Cameron Kenney entered the game.
