STONEWALL – A Stonewall man died when a truck he was riding in crashed into a tree Saturday morning.
Creede Lee Smithee, 20, was riding in a truck driven by Rocky E. Lee Thompson, 34, of Tupelo on a county road east of Stonewall at 12:30 a.m. The truck ran a stop sign and traveled off the road at T-intersection before crashing into a tree, Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. Smithee died at the scene and Thompson was taken to Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada in good condition, troopers said. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.
