Cleveland County prosecutors this morning have received Oklahoma City police reports in the drowning death of Allie Croom who died last week at Lake Stanley Draper, District Attorney Greg Mashburn said.
The 2-year-old girl's death occurred at a part of the lake that falls within Cleveland County, Mashburn said. Late Tuesday, law officers drove Donald Reeser, 29, from the Oklahoma County jail to the Cleveland County jail where he is being held on a murder complaint. Mashburn said a decision on whether to file a murder charge against Reeser could come by the end of the week. Reeser is the boyfriend of Allie's mother, Amber Croom. Reeser was arrested last week after he and Amber Croom drove the girl from the lake to Midwest Regional Medical Center where the girl was pronounced dead. "We've received the initial rundown of their investigation (Oklahoma City police)," Mashburn said this morning. "We're going through all of that information and we could possibly have a decision on a charge by the end of the week." Mashburn said prosecutors are waiting for additional information from the state medical examiner's office and other information, he said. "We're working on it as we speak," Mashburn said.
