SAYRE — An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper this afternoon arrested a man wanted in connection with bank robberies last month in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, according to an FBI news release.

The trooper spotted David Louis Siany, 51, in a Dodge Caravan in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Sayre, the FBI reported. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Beckham County jail, where he remained held without bail this evening.

Siany stole the minivan and cash from his Chicago employer before the robbery of a BancFirst branch in west Oklahoma City on Jan. 27, according to a federal criminal complaint. Officials also named him a suspect in the Jan. 22 robbery of a Bank of America branch in south Tulsa.

Siany has served prison time for other bank robberies in Oklahoma and elsewhere.
