Wreck kills three in Oklahoma

WRECKS KILL THREE

Three people were killed in wrecks on Oklahoma roads Thursday and Friday, authorities said.

→Jonathan M. Hayes, 33, Ponca City

Hayes was driving east on State Highway 15, eight miles northwest of Pawnee when he lost control of the car, slid into an embankment and rolled the vehicle three times about 8 p.m. Thursday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Hayes was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he died, troopers said. He was not wearing a seat belt, records show.

→Richard Henderson III, 32, Tulsa

Henderson died after losing control of his motorcycle and slamming into a telephone pole in north Tulsa, according to Tulsa police. Officers said Henderson died about 2 a.m. Friday at the scene of the accident. Witnesses told police Henderson was speeding west on Lewis Avenue when he lost control of the bike and crashed into the pole.

→Ricky Coursey, 51, Blackwell

Coursey was driving north on U.S. 177, seven miles south of Ponca City in Noble County, when his car crossed the center line and struck a pickup head-on about 12:25 p.m., according to the patrol. Coursey died at the scene, troopers said. The driver of the pickup, Edward G. Rathbun, 52, was taken to a local hospital. Both men were wearing seat belts.
