Spent much of Thursday in Stratford, Oklahoma. First time there. Left with four jars of peach jam, peach butter, peach salsa and something else with peaches.

Stratford is known for peaches. And we had a shoot at Peach Crest Farm.

We’re working on a kids show that will be called “Kidchen Expedition.” We’re working with the State Department of Agriculture and Chef Jeff Denton, Director of Child Nutrition from the Ponca City school district. We’ll be taping segments over the next few weeks and compiling into at least five shows for broadcast in our state’s schools.

We are also working with Children’s Theatre on this show. Today we shot with Chef Jeff and four talented youngsters from Children’s Theatre at Peach Crest Farm, where Susan Bergen taught us about produce that goes from the farm to our tables, including the school tables.

Not that we ate healthy at lunch.

We were told there were two options in Stratford and we opted for the faster: McGee’s Cafe. The grilled onion burger in front of me didn’t last long.

David Jones and Kyle Roberts shot with me on this trip. Again we shot with Canon 7D, captured audio with a boom mic and the Zoom. The 14mm on a 7D produces some really nice video. Matching up the nat sound from the Zoom to the 7D footage won’t be easy, we shot 28 GB of video today across four memory cards. Fortunately the wind cooperated (for Oklahoma). We have another round of shooting Friday here in Oklahoma City.
