VarsityStats app scores a touchdown for prep sports fans

The best source for high school scores and stats just got better.

NewsOK VarsityStats is at newsok.com/varsitystats — and it has:

  • updated scores for the Thursday and Friday night football games
  • game statistics for many of the games in Oklahoma
  • full schedules and stats for every team in Oklahoma
  • individual player pages with individual stats for each player

It’s all on the website, which works great on your desktop, laptop, tablet, iPad or smartphone.

But that’s not enough. We’ve just now added an iPhone app to the suite of VarsityStats products.

Why an app? An app makes it easier for you to keep it on your phone’s home screen. We know the mobile site worked very well on a phone (and it still does, by the way), but putting the same rich content inside an app allows us to take advantage of functionality that’s native to apps.

Some customers will use an app well before using a mobile-enhanced site. Some prefer the mobile web over mobile apps. It would be easier for us if everyone wanted the same thing, but that’s not the world we live in.

Because we think it’s important to deliver the content to you in any way you want it, the good news is that we have the development team that can leverage all the capabilities that each platform provides.

So use the NewsOK VarsityStats app. And if you prefer a great mobile site over a great mobile app, then just go to NewsOK.com/VarsityStats and save a bookmark to you home screen.

I know this much. Everyone has an opinion on nearly everything we launch. Even some of my favorite features or products will sometimes get a negative review from family and friends. But nobody has visited our VarsityStats app and told me that it disappointed them. They might have good requests for future feature additions, but they generally are delighted by this VarsityStats offering.

We love unanimous satisfaction. Prove me right and download the app.
