It’s Election day, almost

The votes come in Tuesday night.

That will be a big deal. NewsOK will have live coverage with updated results, live reports, video analysis and stories on every major race.

But that's something we have been perfecting for many years now. Election night is a big deal, and we'll treat is as such on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Vote on Tuesday. Then spend the evening doing whatever it is you normally do. While you’re doing that, visit NewsOK on your smartphone. You’ll have all the results and updates at your fingertip.

Special pages you should visit

We created a handful of special sections that are worth a visit to NewsOK.

I'm telling you this because if you go to NewsOK and start browsing, you’re going to get sidetracked by a breaking news update or a fun blog post or an in-depth story. There’s so much interesting stuff on the site that you need to make an appointment to visit these special sections.

If you go to the NewsOK home page and scroll just below the main stories on the site, you'll find links to a few of our special sections from the past couple of weeks.

  • The Brave and Beautiful section. That actually ran Oct. 26 in the newspaper and features five women of various ages sharing their stories of stages, diagnosis and treatments. It also includes a powerful video of women telling their own stories.
  • The College Bound Section. You can find that in Sunday's newspaper, and it features stories for families preparing for college. You can see the entire section on NewsOK right now.
  • The annual Oklahoma Inc. section that features the top companies in Oklahoma. You can see the section as it was printed on Sunday, or you can browse through every story as an article on NewsOK. This will be featured in our Business section all year, so you have time. But I suggest you go today before someone else tells you who the No. 1 company is this year.

See adorable animals

We know you want to share the funny picture you just took of your pet. The world needs to see this photo. It might even appear in the next issue of LOOKatOKC or in the NewsOK photo gallery.

Here’s one that’s online right now — submitted to NewsOK Now by Derek Jones.

It's all part of our #LICKatOKC promotion.

We're not asking for much. It's simple. Either use NewsOK Now (the iPhone app or the website) or your Instagram account (hashtag #LICKatOKC) to share your pet picture. Do it. It will make you feel better about your week.

That's all we ask.

Oh, wait. We’re asking for one more thing. We ask that the photo be 'adorable.'

That goes almost without saying. It's your pet, after all.
