A few weeks ago I shared with readers that from time to time I will using my blog to help raise support and awareness for Foster Wishes, a non-profit that seeks to fulfill Christmas wish lists for foster kids and meet other needs of the state’s strained foster families.

Today’s guest post is by Lisa Feist, director of Foster Wishes.

Come one, come all to the first ever Christmas Crawl!

This is first and foremost a local charity fundraiser. All proceeds for the 2014 Christmas Crawl are going to OK Foster Wishes to brighten Christmas for our more than 11,000 kids in foster care in our community!

You can attend the Christmas Crawl on December 12th in Deep Deuce District from 6-9pm with a fun after party planned to share all the pictures and stories from the event. Be sure to dress up in your most cheerful or grinchy look, have some food, have some beverages, and have a great time. Also, you'll have an opportunity to help make an even bigger impact by donating in the buckets that will be at each establishment, just find the OKFW representative and they'll have an official 2014 Christmas Crawl button to give you as a "thank you".

Participating Establishments: Deep Deuce Grill, Skinny Slim’s, Urban Johnnie, The Wedge, Slaughter’s Hall, WSKY Lounge?? 2014

Busy that night? That's a shame, we will miss you. You can still be a part of the fun and donate right now at www.okccrawl.com ! Make sure you tell your friends and co-workers what we are doing though; maybe they can make time for our crawl and you will see all of their pictures and comments on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You know what, don't be sad, just move some things around and come crawl with us.

The Christmas Crawl is a community event that encourages responsible merrymaking by participants. They urge you to have fun while being responsible with the following message; "Yes, eat responsibly as well, it's all about stamina, we wouldn't want you to fall asleep in a big plate of cheese fries. We want you to be safe and keep our community safe. Please DO NOT DRINK & DRIVE. Not cool guys, not cool. Assign a designated driver at the beginning of the night, use your Uber app, call a taxi, make a friend that doesn't drink, do something, just don't DRIVE home. It's a crawl, it's fun. Let's keep it fun.!"

Of course, none of this would be possible with out this year's generous sponsors;

Dental 32 ,? Indian Motorcycle , ?Keep It Local OK?, PLICO , ?Prodigal LLC , ?Walker Companies, ?Yelp!, ?Uber?.

In fact, Uber has extended their generosity to offer a promo code all week for first time users and will make a donation to OK Foster Wishes each time it's used!
