NewsOK's enhanced Travel page takes you to more places

We added a new page to our navigation for the NewsOK Mobile website a few weeks ago.

Click on the navigation icon in the top right, and it's clearly there marked with a 'new' icon.

It's called travel.

You're probably thinking that it's not new for us to cover travel with a special area of the website or the newspaper. And you're right. We’ve had a travel page on NewsOK since I can remember.

What's new is our emphasis on the content and the blogging for the travel audience and that we added the page to the navigation for the mobile website.

Like most pages on NewsOK.com, the travel page combines a bit of everything we can come up with:

  • everything we write for The Oklahoman,
  • everything we can gather from Around the Web,
  • everything we can share from the Associated Press,
  • everything we blog from our experts (in this case, reporter Matt Patterson serves as the blogger) and,
  • every photo gallery and video we produce on the subject.

Matt's blog is a particularly interesting take on the travel scene. In the past week, he's referenced everything from the Vacation movies to Game of Thrones to reality television in Terlingua, Texas.

We generally pride ourselves on covering everything local. And that can be difficult with the travel page. It's not always local, but it's always interesting.

For a topic that is generally about leaving your current location, we have a ton of interesting content about traveling, both inside our state's borders and abroad.

Just browse, tap and scroll.
