Tulsa will shine the spotlight on fashion in September with several events that showcase local and national designers.

Designed to encourage fashion consciousness both in the state and locally, Tulsa Fashion Week public events begin Sept. 16 and culminate with a finale runway show on Sept. 19.

Interest was so strong that organizers added a Friday runway show as well.

Events include:

The Art of Fashion Photography Exhibit, Sept. 16-19, Jackie Cooper Imports, 9393 S Memorial Drive. The event is free to the public from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Fashion in the Square, Sept. 17, Utica Square, 21st and Utica Avenue. Free to the public from 4 to 8 p.m. A runway show at Miss Jackson’s will feature local fashion collections Color Me Bold by Kristle, a children’s line; LA9 by Sarah Shibley, ready to wear; Kenya Carter and Irmir Pena, ready to wear; and Carlo Collins, evening and ready to wear.

The public is also encouraged to participate in Pets on Parade coordinated with Dog Dish. Many stores and restaurants in the Square are also planning events.

Fashion Friday at the Mayo Hotel, 15 West 5th Ave. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a VIP reception. A runway show from 7:30 to 10 p.m. will feature designs by Joannelynn Hong, Designs by Jessica, Caycee Black, Nicole Moan and Shonda. Tickets are $60 to $95.

Tulsa Fashion Week Runway Finale, 7:30 to 10 p.m., at Cox Convention Center, Ballroom A. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for a VIP reception. The finale will feature designs by Monsanto, Orlando Dugi, Stephen Goudeau, Steve Boi and Nine Muses. Tickets are $65 to $120.
