Reed Krakoff knows his way around a handbag.

He was the executive creative director for Coach before launching his own signature label. Now he has partnered with Kohl’s for a limited-edition collection of handbags and apparel available in mid-April.

Called Reed, the designer’s first-ever retail partnership is inspired by iconic looks that embody the quality and craftsmanship associated with the brand.

“Each piece is the perfect combination of function, elegance and fun, which we know will be sought-after by women across the country this spring,” said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief merchandising and customer officer. “The collection also includes several options for women to personalize her look by quickly and simply adding an accessory.

“This provides even more opportunities for our customers to bring the products they love to life, in a way that works best for them.”

With Krakoff’s background and recognizable influence in handbag design, it’s no surprise bags are the core of the collection, but his sportswear-inspired apparel is expected to garner attention, too. Look for color-blocking, statement stripes and novelty fabric and prints. Prices range from $15 to $129.

“When Kohl’s presented me with this great opportunity, I couldn’t say no,” Krakoff said. “Everyday luxury embodies the best of American fashion. The ability to create great design at an incredible value is more relevant today than ever before.”
