Comics on The Oklahoman's digital platforms make me smile

Confession time.

I love the comics in The Oklahoman.

That’s not a very ‘digital’ thing to say. And since I work in and promote the digital space, it’s not something you might expect to hear from me.

But I love the comics in The Oklahoman. I don’t read every one of them every day, but I definitely scan them each day. I generally scan those on Oklahoman.com.

Frankly, the comics pages on The Oklahoman’s digital products make me quite proud. If you are a subscriber using The Oklahoman’s app or Oklahoman.com, you see those pages and you probably open them each day.

There are fancier digital experiences in our arsenal. We do some really advanced things with technology for The Oklahoman and NewsOK products. The comics? Those are simple.

But the beauty is in the simplicity. As a subscriber who likes Oklahoman.com for its clean layout and edition-based organization, it’s easy to browse and read the big news of the day in each of the sections and then take a breath and go to the comics page.

Tap or click. Smile or chuckle.

I confess. That’s what I do.

Just don’t tell anybody.
