Handmade jewelry, much of it created from unusual materials and generations-old techniques, will be showcased during a Noonday trunk show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Milo & Lily Boutique, 9612 N May.

Noonday Collection, based in Austin, Texas, uses fashion and design to create economic opportunity for about 2,000 artisans in 13 countries.

Jessica Honegger launched Noonday Collection in 2010. While in Uganda, she met jewelry designers Jalia and Daniel who dreamed of using fashion to create jobs in their community. Selling the designers’ jewelry, Honegger hosted the first Noonday trunk show in her home to raise funds to adopt from Rwanda. It quickly became more than a fundraiser as women loved the styles and the story.

The collection includes jewelry, handbags, scarves, headbands and a couple of home accessories. Most of the jewelry is in the $30 to $60 price range.

Milo & Lily, a women’s clothing boutique, is in the Collonade Shops. For more information, call 430-7915
