Follow the world's best Thunder coverage in The Oklahoman and on NewsOK

I’m like the rest of us. I have Thunder fever.

It’s playoff time, so Oklahoma City is buzzing with playoff excitement. It’s the topic of roughly 72 percent of all small talk that happens near elevators, water coolers and coffee pots. (That stat is a mere estimate based on my own experiences; It is definitely not a statistic based on any valid research.)

The Oklahoman’s staff is also buzzing. It is in full playoff coverage mode. We’re already more than halfway through the first series, and from what I’ve seen on my living room couch, the reporters and editors are in prime form.

I’ve seen the reporters’ live analysis in our live coverage. I’ve seen the in-game blog posts that highlight the news from the sideline. I’ve seen the post-game analysis and the deep coverage that you cannot get anywhere else. (That is no estimate and no overstatement; There is no better place to get complete Thunder coverage than NewsOK.com and The Oklahoman.)

I’ve seen the social media chatter that helps our editors choose the best headline for the newspaper the next day. I’ve read the media wrap-up that tells us what others around the country are saying about our team. I studied the report cards after each game.

And I’ve swelled with pride watching The Oklahoman’s behind-the-scenes series on how our staff covers the Thunder every day – every home game, every road game and every practice.

I remember that two of those fellas cut their teeth here at The Oklahoman creating and editing web content behind the scenes for the growing audience on NewsOK. Anthony Slater and Erik Horne know how to work hard.

So when you get ready to watch Game 5 of the first-round series, be sure to have your phone or laptop handy. Check out the live coverage and the updates. Be ready to see everything that happens on the site after the game.

If you don’t have it yet, The Oklahoman will help you get Thunder fever.
