Blockbusters and classics coming to Harkins Theatres

Our friend Taylor Ketchum brought popcorn for today’s lunchtime interview. Taylor previewed upcoming summer blockbusters, some summer classics and family friendly fares available at Harkins Theatres 16 in Bricktown. See the interview above.

First rule, you don’t talk about Fight Club. Second rule, see the first rule. But we did anyway. “Fight Club” is among the Tuesday Night Classics lineup this summer at Harkins. All movies start at 7 pm and are $5. “Fight Club” shows June 21. “The Goonies” shows June 28. “Top Gun” will air the following week. Click here for more information.

Finding Dory: Dory is on a search for answers to her past, and she’s taking her old friends Nemo and Marlin with her. In theaters June 17.

The summer blockbusters continue with the latest releases: “Finding Dory” and “Independence Day (Resurgence).” It’s been about 13 years since we found Nemo, now Disney’s Pixar is putting the band back together around its favorite, forgetful blue fish. “Finding Dory” can be found, and watched, June 17.

Independence Day (Resurgence): In this sequel to the 1996 film, the world is recovering two decades after a destructive alien attack. The United Nations creates the Earth Space Defense, which serves as Earth's early warning system and main defense using technology salvaged from the alien forces. In theaters June 24.

And of course we won’t go quietly into the night, the sequel to the 1996 film “Independence Day” hits theatres June 24, without Will Smith. It’s rated PG-13.

Taylor reminded us about the Summer Movie Fun program at Harkins where families can buy a pass for $5 and enjoy a different film each week through August 5 for their kids.
