KD's to become "Legacy Grill"?

A building permit filing on the city's website shows the restaurant we once knew as KD's is being rechristened as "Legacy Grill."

The Bricktown restaurant, named after former Thunder star Kevin Durant, closed July 24, just three weeks after Durant announced plans to leave Oklahoma City for the Golden State Warriors. Hal Smith restaurant group, which owns the eatery, promised it would reopen with a new theme after Labor Day.

Oklahoman reporter Brianna Bailey reported on July 25 Legacy Grill was one of three names trademarked by the Hal Smith Restaurant Group, with Legacy Grill filed on July 12, just a week after Durant's announcement he was leaving Oklahoma City.
