Honoring Chloe and Colton
Dinner/shower: Chloe Shelby and Colton Cumbie were honored at a prenuptial shower and dinner party in the home of Lisa Synar. Co-hosts were Diane and Bob Cooke, Marylee and Tim Strange and Tina and Elby Beal. The engaged couple will be married in December.
Sparkling scene: The Synar home was decorated for the holidays with several Christmas trees, lights, flowers and candles.
Menu: For dinner, there was smoked salmon, artichoke dip, bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, and cake pops decorated with gold rings.
People: Among those at the event were Candy and Mark Lisle, Pam and Richard Lane, Becky and Steve Wetwiska, Cathy and Gary Dempsey, Becky and Warren Johnson, Caitlin and Phillip Mazaheri, Kerry Guinn.
End of the season luncheon
Golf luncheon: Members of the 9-hole and 18-hole Ladies Golf Association at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club had the end-of-the season luncheon at the Club.
Wrap-up: The season's golf activities for this year were discussed and events for 2017 were announced. Jill Dobbins was congratulated for her 2016 hole-in-one. Lori Hill, current president of the 9-hole group, introduced Dian Everett as the new president, and Ellen Lisle, current president of the 18-hole group, introduced new president, Cindy Arnold.

Taking the stage: Tara Grant from the Club Pro Shop presented holiday gift ideas from the Golf Shop.
Kick-Off for Cleats & Cocktails
Party: A Wes Welker Foundation Kick-Off party was held in the home of Shannon Love for the Cleats & Cocktails planning committee. Members heard about the history of the Wes Welker Foundation and its' most recent grant recipients. The group started planning the 10th annual event which is set for April 7th, 2017, at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.
Vital mission: The Foundation has distributed over $1 million to athletic programs for Oklahoma City Public Schools and nonprofits. Wes Welker, an Oklahoma City native and NFL player, started the Foundation in 2006.
Celebrate and recognize
Reception: The United Way of Central Oklahoma celebrated with donors and community leaders at a Recognition Reception at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.
Early tally: The event honored companies that completed the workplace giving campaigns early and also recognized outstanding employee campaign coordinators and the 2016 Loaned Executives. Early campaign results were announced at the reception and $14.4m has been raised for the UWCO to date. Final results will be announced at the Snowflake Gala in January.
JRB Art exhibition
Party for art: A reception was held during the First Friday Paseo Walk at JRB Art at the Elms. The event featured the textured paintings of Karam and pop realist portraits of Robert Peterson.
Food/flowers: Picasso's Restaurant catered the food with a Mediterranean buffet. Cymbidium orchids were on the buffet tables.
About the artists: Karam's paintings are meticulous and one large painting took her 600 hours to complete. Peterson's work has been acquired by sports people and Hip-hop stars.

Volunteers with spirit
Volunteer day: The Hospital Volunteers of Oklahoma recognized 15 volunteers from throughout the state as 2016 Volunteers with Spirit. The awards were presented during the Hospital Volunteer Day meeting at the Oklahoma Hospital Association Annual Convention.
Auxiliary picks: Auxiliary members at Oklahoma hospitals selected their volunteer honoree on the basis of who best exemplified the spirit of service for their respective hospital auxiliaries.
