Allied Arts reception honors winners
Reception: The 41st Governor's Arts Award winners were honored at a reception given by Allied Arts, Oklahomans for the Arts and Norman Arts Council at The Clark Building, 16 NE 2. The event followed the presentation by Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb and the Oklahoma Arts Council at the Oklahoma State Capitol. Invited guests to the reception also included Circle Club members. Two hundred people attended.
Allied Arts ties: Individuals and organizations who received awards this year and who have ties to Allied Arts include Jose Freede, who was nominated by Allied Arts and is a board member and longtime supporter of the organization, and Prairie Dance Theatre, an Allied Arts member agency. Also, Michael Baron, who leads Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, an Allied Arts agency, and Sen. Holt who serves on the organization's board, and Meyers, an Allied Arts Circle Club member, were among the honorees.
Award winners: Those honored at the Capitol were Ann Lacy, Arts Council Oklahoma City, Carol Armstrong, FAME Academy, Fowler Automotive, Harding Fine Arts Academy, Jose Freede, Joshua Muller, Mayor Jimmy Tramel, Michael Anthamatten, Michael Baron, Mike Knedler, Park Avenue Thrift, Prairie Dance Theatre, Sandy Meyers, State Rep. Scott Martin, State Sen. David Holt, Susan Miller Cadot, Theatre Tulsa, Tina Pena and World Literature Today.
For Friends of OMRF
Party: Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation President Stephen Prescott, and his wife, Susan, were hosts for the President's Christmas party for friends of OMRF. It was held in Gaylord Pavilion of the OMRF Research Tower.
Guests: Among the partygoers were Judy Hatfield; Virginia and John Groendyke; Kim and David Rainbolt; Charlotte Lankard; Gene Rainbolt; Jeri and Jerome Holmes; Roy Williams; Cliff Hudson; Mike Joseph; Sara and Jay Kyte; and Ann-Clore and Walt Duncan, as well as other board members and supporters of the nonprofit foundation.
Special spread: Lobster rolls, smoked salmon, roasted jalapeno pimento cheese in phyllo cups and mocha madeleines prepared by Janie Morgan Catering were among the party foods. Gold and white centerpieces of white roses and hydrangeas were on the tables and a 12-foot Christmas tree was trimmed with gold ornaments and white lights.

Weekend of parties
Occasion: Two parties were given by Brenda and Phillip Graham in their home for friends and business associates. The events featured a social hour before guests were seated for a concert performance featuring Bryce Merritt. Following entertainment, an assortment of desserts was served, including the Graham party tradition of banana pudding.

Occasion: At the recent exhibition opening at JRB Art at the Ems, art in all media by Adam Lanham, Moh'd Bilbeisi, Andy Mattern and Stella Thomas and 40 Gallery artists were shown.
Gallery decor: The galleries were decorated with lighted Christmas trees and the fireplace mantles held arrangements of magnolia branches, holly, pine boughs with cones and red amaryllis.
Menu: Vegetable and cheese arrangements were served on platters handmade by the gallery's ceramists. Platters were decorated with white button mums. Paseo Cosmo cocktails of citrus vodka, pomegranate juice and lime were served.

Paseo Arts Awards Dinner
Event: The 10th annual Paseo Arts Awards Dinner was held at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel. The four people who were honored for their contributions to the arts were Jack Fowler, Emerging Artist Award; Adam Lanman, Artist of the Year; Christina Pickard, the Michi Susan Award; and Amy Young, Volunteer Service Award.
On the program: Lance McDaniel was master of ceremonies. The Savoy Trio entertained, as well as dancers from a StarDanceSwan. Three testimonial videos by Alisa Stieg, Kerri Shadid and Mike Wimmer were shown.
Flowers: Red and yellow roses, coffee berry and pincushion flowers in aqua vases and votive candles were on the tables.
