In the week leading up to President Trump’s inauguration, The Oklahoman showcased a six-part series titled “The Road Ahead.”

The series was written by Ben Felder, a reporter on the Watchdog desk in The Oklahoman’s newsroom. Ben visited different parts of the state, offering insight to the expectations from residents of our state under the Trump administration.

The

Topics were …

-       Immigration. Ben highlighted the community in Guymon that has transformed in recent years because of an acceleration of immigrants in the community.

-       Energy. Elk City was the center of this story, as he wrote about the hope the city has around a pro-energy president.

-       Race. He told the story from the perspective of residents in north Tulsa.

-       Inner cities. Ben examined how the administration policies might affect the continued evolution of Oklahoma City.

-       Education. Rural school districts were the focus, specifically the story of the Alex public schools.

-       Health. We visited with residents and health-care providers in south Oklahoma City.
