Evening of Excellence dinner
Excellent event: Members of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine Alumni Association were hosts for a black-tie dinner recognizing Jeanne Hoffman Smith, clinical social worker and philanthropist; and Dr. J. Andy Sullivan, pediatric orthopedic surgeon. The dinner was at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. A cocktail reception was held prior to dinner and the honorees met with their friends, family and OU Alumni.
Prestigious awards: Smith was presented the Dean's Award for Distinguished Community Service. She was introduced by Dr. Terrence Stull. Sullivan received the Dean's Award for Distinguished Medical Service and was introduced by Dr. Jerry Vannata. Dr. M Dewayne Andrews, Executive Dean of the College of Medicine, presided.
On the program: Dr. Stravros Stavrakis, College of Medicine Research Scholar, talked about the research program which the dinner benefitted.
Dinner committee: Aimee Harlow was dinner chairman and Suzanne Reynold was vice chairman. Committee members included Janie Axton, Kristen Brown, Nazette Zuhdi Cleaver, Dina Hammam, Kirk Hammons, Barbara Jett, Elizabeth Jett, Andrea Jones, Kay Oliver, Lisa Pierce, Suzanne Reynolds, Alix Samara, Leslie Samara, Jeary Seikel, Gayle Semtner, Denna Sylvester and Leigh Woody.
