Honoring Larry Bross
Party: A breakfast celebration honored Larry Bross at Frontline Church. He is Executive Director of City Care and though he's retiring at the end of May, he will remain on staff for another year.
The center: Board Chairman Andy Burnett announced that the group is renaming its Pershing Center facility for Bross and his wife Masie. “With deep appreciation and admiration for all that Larry and Masie have done over the last 21 years,” Andy Burnett said, “it will be renamed The Larry and Masie Bross Center at Pershing.” The center is a 60-unit permanent housing supportive program for homeless individuals and couples. Larry Bross' service began in 1995 with feeding breakfast to the homeless at downtown's City Church, now Frontline Church. The board of directors were hosts for the breakfast at the place where it all began.
At breakfast: Gov. Mary Fallin and Mayor Mick Cornett congratulated Bross' work with video messages during the celebration. Hosts were Steve Zabel, Kirk Humphreys and Wes Lane. Family members, friends and community leaders gathered to honor the couple.
Happy birthday, Brooke
Party: Brooke Haneborg was honored on her birthday when friends and neighbors dropped by her mother, Linda Haneborg's, Gaillardia home for a Champagne toast. Amy Scott was co-hostess.

Luncheon: The Early American Glass Club of Oklahoma City had their March event in Jan J Smith's home. Co-hostesses were Fran Troiani, Janet Gingerich, Phyllis Brawley, Linda Skarky and Melanie Blackburn.
Flowers/food: Orchid and jonquil centerpieces were set throughout the house and the hostess used lovely china, silver and crystal for serving the food, which was spinach quiche, fruit salad, cucumber sandwiches and strawberry scones.
Program: Carey Sue Vega gave a slide presentation and talked about having dinner with Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, in an English castle.
At lunch: Among the members attending were Kathy Lippert, Sherry Sullivan, Kittye Little, Anne McKenny, Sharlene Branham, Ann Costello, Cheryl Hewett, Norma Harris, Laynie Harrod, Judie Duncan, Pam Couch, Franci Hart, Dee Hessel, Melody Bereman, Kathy Kempf, Frances Olney, Susan Robertson, Rita Ward and Margaret Sanders.
Cocktails: Members of the Oklahoma City Orchestra League were at Vast for cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a musical program by Leona Mitchell, Grammy Award-winning soprano and New York Metropolitan Opera soprano for 18 years. She sang a range of music including opera, show tunes and jazz.
On the menu: Toast points topped with bits of short ribs and beets and chicken salad, mushroom tarts, lobster topped with mashed potatoes and desserts, including cream puffs and brownies.
The occasion: The event supported music education programs and music competitions.
