Inbox app notifications are invaluable for subscribers on The Oklahoman’s app

I was chatting with a subscriber a few weeks ago – one of our high-profile subscribers.

By ‘high-profile,’ I mean someone that is both interested in the news, involved in the news and has made news through the years as a business person and public official.

When I see him, he often has a comment about The Oklahoman’s app, which he uses to read the newspaper every day on his phone.

On this day, he wanted to talk about the Inbox notifications.

“The notifications you guys are sending are invaluable,” he said.

Invaluable.

That’s my new favorite word, and it’s the best word to describe the service we provide with our journalism and our suite of digital products.

The subscriber I was speaking with uses The Oklahoman’s app and gets the breaking news alerts on his phone. During his business days, he found the breaking news alerts kept him, his staff and his colleagues informed more quickly than any other means.

The beauty of the alerts on The Oklahoman’s app is that you can customize what you see. Perhaps you aren’t interested in breaking news – you might just want to know every story we post about University of Oklahoma sports or about downtown Oklahoma City. Each of those are options for alerts on The Oklahoman’s app.

There are dozens of other specific topics. You can even choose to follow specific authors and get and alert for every blog post or article penned by Berry Tramel or Jenni Carlson or Dave Cathey or Steve Lackmeyer or on and on.

Invaluable.

However you want to use the Inbox notifications, the result is the same. We’ll keep you informed and updated.

And that’s invaluable.
