It's Friday. Here is a look at your headlines.

'Mom I don't want you to get shooted'

A suburban Minneapolis police officer fatally shot Philando Castile, 32, in July 2016. At the time, his girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, livestreamed the aftermath from her smartphone.

A jury last week acquitted the officer, Jeronimo Yanez, 29, of manslaughter and other charges, touching off protests.

This week, footage and audio from the encounter has been released. USA Today reported:

Castile was pulled over for a broken taillight, but radio transmissions later revealed Yanez thought Castile resembled a suspect in a convenience store robbery days earlier.

The sequence showed shows how Reynolds had been handcuffed in the back of a squad car. Her daughter stood near by and promised to protect her mother.

“Mom, please stop cussing and screaming cause I don’t want you to get shooted,” the 4-year-old said.

Reynolds asked for a kiss.

"I can keep you safe," the little girl said.

"I wish this town was safer," the girl says. "I don't want it to be like this anymore."

Reynolds response: "Tell that to the police, OK? When they come, tell them that you wish that they didn't have to kill people."
