Fresh off the success of its tiger cub cam, the Oklahoma City Zoo has launched a red panda cam allowing visitors to view the zoo's red pandas in their habitat.

Red pandas are a relative of giant pandas most commonly found in China. They are also related to raccoons.

The zoo has several, including 10-year-old Java who has been in Oklahoma City since 2011. She gave birth to Wasabi in 2016, the 15th red panda cub born at the zoo since it began its program in 1988.

Roughly the size of a house cat, red pandas are climbers who live and sleep in trees. They like bamboo but also eat fruit, acorns and eggs.

They are endangered with about 10,000 living in the wild, mostly in the Himalayan Mountains in Nepal and central China. Deforestation is the primary cause of habitat loss.

Java and Wasabi could be seen moving about their habitat Tuesday afternoon, but often retreat indoors when the temperature drops below 50.
