GeekCon update: Comic book color artist Jordan Boyd set to appear

Geek Con is set for May 19 at the Downtown Library.


The Metropolitan Library System's downtown library, 300 Park Ave., will hold "Geek Con" starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. on May 19.

Comic-book colorist Jordan Boyd is set to appear on a panel at the con. 

Boyd, formerly of Norman, has been the color artist on comic books from Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, Valiant, Boom!, Dynamite, IDW, Monkeybrain, and more.

Kimberly Edwards of the Metropolitan Library shared an update on the planned panels and craft activities. 

"We're going to have at least 4 panels: Cosplay 101, Voice Acting, Comics: Breaking down the process with Image Comics colorist Jordan Boyd and one on Online comics with the creator of the online comic Waymaker Chronicles, Edwards said via e-mail. "There will be 3 craft activities for all ages: Candy Sushi, Harry Potter Wands and Bottle Cap/Marble Magnets. Take One Improv will be performing and we will be having a Superhero Storytime." 

The originally planned costume contest has been cancelled.
