Mother of Del City boy who died in boyfriend's care accused of child neglect
A warrant has been issued for the mother of a 1-year-old boy whose boyfriend was arrested in connection with his death.
Samantha Rae Forsberg, 24, is wanted on two counts of child neglect, according to the arrest warrant filed in Oklahoma County District Court on Tuesday.
The boy, Kaleb Forsberg, died Sunday after police were called to a house when he was not breathing. Philip Howard, 29, was babysitting while the boy's mother was at work. He told investigators that he tripped and fell while carrying the boy, but the wounds did not match his story, police said.
An autopsy revealed two spiral fractures to the boy's right leg caused by a forceful twisting motion, the warrant states.
On Samantha Forsberg's phone were found photos taken on May 3 of an injury to the boy's right leg, according to the warrant.
Both Forsberg and Howard admitted to doing drugs in the house while the boy was home. Marijuana as well as baggies with meth residue were also found in the house, the warrant states.
Howard remains in the Oklahoma County jail. He has not been charged.
