Serena Williams launches new clothing collection
Tennis superstar Serena Williams, garnering raves for her play and her black body suit at the French Open, has launched her first independent clothing collection.
She’s no newcomer to the world of fashion. Williams developed her fashion skills as a design student at the Art Institute of Florida. Years later she collaborated with Nike and HSN on clothing collections.
Now this collection, simply called Serena, is all hers. It includes joggers, a metallic jacket, dresses and a pencil skirt
Prices range from $35 to $250 and the collection is sold on her website, serenawilliams.com, where she shares this:
Introducing Serena, my first independent clothing for all the ladies out there being awesome. My designs are inspired by strong, sexy, sophisticated, sassy, sure, smart, stylish, silly and spontaneous women who are living their best lives or making it up as they go – kinda like me.
Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to another. We’re strongest when we cheer each other on. I dedicate this collection to everyone who’s ready to rep their S.
And about that catsuit. It was designed to protect Williams against blood clots which have sidelined her in the past.
