Sulphur man dies after June wreck
MADILL — An 82-year-old man died Monday from injuries he sustained in a June wreck, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
About 8:20 p.m. on June 26, Everett E. Hollis, of Sulphur, was driving a car west on State Highway 1, about 4 miles north of Madill. The car failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by another vehicle as it merged onto U.S. 177, troopers said.
Hollis, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to OU Medical Center where he died Monday. A passenger in the car and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to hospitals, treated for their injuries and released, the patrol reported.
