NewsOK Pro or The Oklahoman -- What's the difference?
I've been writing a lot of short blog posts in recent weeks to try to help our users on NewsOK understand what it means to 'go Pro' on NewsOK.
Some of our users might think they already are a 'Pro' at browsing NewsOK. They subscribe to The Oklahoman, perhaps? They use NewsOK every day, maybe.
Those people are correct. They are a 'Pro.' Current subscribers to The Oklahoman get all the benefits of NewsOK Pro users. NewsOK Pro is just another benefit of their subscription.
If you subscribe to The Oklahoman, all you have to do is log in to NewsOK to see all the premium content, to customize your topics, to create your own home page or to see the site without advertising.
Congratulations to you.
But what if you are not a subscriber to The Oklahoman?
What if you are just a news consumer who uses NewsOK.com and doesn't subscribe to a premium experience.
You have choices to make.
Do you want to become a NewsOK Pro member and customize your favorite topic(s)?
Let's say your most interested in Politics, for example. You can become a NewsOK Pro member and customize one topic -- Politics -- for just $2.49 per month. You will be able to decide which sources, which Twitter feeds, which stories and which AP categories you want to see. It will be a comprehensive list about Politics.
That's what it means to 'go Pro' on NewsOK. You won't get the edition-based experiences for The Oklahoman, but you can choose what you want to see on NewsOK.
You can be a NewsOK Pro member and choose three topics to customize for $4.99 per month. It's a great deal.
So, to recap ...
1. If you subscribe to The Oklahoman, you get every premium experience we have. In the digital space, you can choose The Oklahoman App, Oklahoman.com, The Oklahoman Print Replica or NewsOK Pro.
2. If you subscribe to NewsOK Pro, you get the premium experiences on NewsOK Pro -- customization, ad-free, premium content, personal home page.
