Energy FC blanks Roughnecks

Oklahoma City Energy FC defeated Tulsa Roughnecks FC 3-0 Wednesday night at ONEOK Field in Tulsa to win the 2018 Black Gold Derby.

Adam Jahn scored in the 45th minute for the first goal of the match. Just four minutes later, Christian Volesky sent a shot into the back of the net before Alex Dixon scored on a penalty kick in the 79th.

Wednesday's match was the third and final meeting of the season between the in-state rivals. With the win, OKC took the series 2-0-1 and improved its overall record against Tulsa to 8-3-3.

Energy FC returns to action Saturday night against Real Monarchs at Taft Stadium. The match begins at 7:30 p.m.
