Even as construction continued on the rail system for Oklahoma City streetcars, the vehicles have been rolling around downtown.

On Thursday, streetcars moved through Bricktown, along Sheridan Avenue and other downtown streets, stopping at the Bricktown Ballpark and at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Motorists and pedestrians appeared to take it in stride.

By the time major construction is finished in October, about six miles of track will have been installed in downtown streets, nearly four miles of overhead wire will have been strung and 22 platforms readied for boarding.

Service is scheduled to begin in December.
